PITTSBURGH (AP) — A judge has delayed ruling whether a Pittsburgh-area man is guilty of involuntary manslaughter and other charges in a crash on Interstate 376 that killed three of his friends.

Allegheny County Judge Jeffrey Manning planned to issue a verdict Wednesday, but said he needed more evidence in the trial of 21-year-old Ryan Safka of Upper St. Clair.

State police said the car's onboard computer shows he was driving 106 mph when the car went airborne over an embankment and crashed killing three passengers.

But Manning says there's no Pennsylvania court precedent that onboard computer information alone is enough to convict someone. Manning ordered testimony to resume on Feb. 21, the second anniversary of the crash.

Safka's attorneys said the computer overestimated the speed by recording tire rotations while the car was airborne.
